Meanwhile, Napaaqtugmiut faced Fort Yukon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Napaaqtugmiut took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Yukon. The Lynx's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Napaaqtugmiut's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Newhalen, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.
