Softball Recap: Macarthur Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

MacArthur came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Winn Mavericks on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Brahmas also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Jessie Salazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Miranda Lerma, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Neira, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Winn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Coming up, MacArthur will face off against Cedar Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Brahmas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Winn, they will venture away from home to take on Natalia at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
