Basketball Recap: Hialeah Takes a Loss

Hialeah lost against Central back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hialeah Thoroughbreds took a blow against the Central Rockets, falling 90-49. While losing is never fun, the Thoroughbreds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Rockets are ranked 31st).

Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Suarez out in front who went 9 for 14 on his way to 20 points and seven assists. The match was Suarez's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Marlon Gaitan was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Hialeah dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Central, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Hialeah will take on Hialeah Gardens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will face off against Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
