Baseball Recap: Fairmont Takes a Loss

Fairmont came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-1 to the St. Xavier Bombers.

Fairmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Furr, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Miles Osterfeld also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Xavier, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Fairmont will take on Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Xavier, they will challenge La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
