Football Recap: McLean Highlanders vs. Langley Saxons
McLean came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Langley Saxons 40-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Highlanders were not able to get on the board.
Christian McNeill threw for 42 yards on three of seven attempts. Aidan Reid was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards.
Cole Samburg had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 186 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 43 yards for Langley.
McLean has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Langley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McLean will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. on November 7. As for Langley, they will head out to challenge George C. Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
