Softball Recap: Sioux Falls Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Chamberlain

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sioux Falls Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chamberlain Cubs a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Jada Roskup looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Dehlia Doop-Blanchard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Nelson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Sioux Falls Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sioux Falls Christian's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5. As for Chamberlain, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sioux Falls Christian will host Lennox at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chamberlain, they will welcome Hanson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
