Baseball Recap: Hopewell Valley Central Victorious

Hopewell Valley Central's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Trenton Central Tornadoes. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Jaykob Shin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Shin was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Echternacht, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Chase Garrow, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

Hopewell Valley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
