Baseball Recap: North Montgomery Triumphs

North Montgomery is still undefeated this season after their game against Cascade on Saturday, but Cascade came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Chargin' Chargers had just enough and edged out the Cadets 8-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargin' Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Cade Cole made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayden Keller, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jack Warren also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

North Montgomery's record now sits at 4-0. As for Cascade, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Montgomery will host Western Boone at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargin' Chargers 3, the Stars 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cascade, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
