Softball Recap: Morehead Comes Up Short

Morehead fell victim to Rockingham County and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Morehead's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Rockingham County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morehead will venture away from home to take on Walkertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walkertown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Morehead's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockingham County, they will face off against Southern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockingham County will need to watch out since Southern Guilford has now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
