Volleyball Recap: St. Johnsbury Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Mt. Mansfield

St. Johnsbury Academy faced Mt. Mansfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

While St. Johnsbury Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Brooke Bogle paced St. Johnsbury Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Bogle were helped by Aryanna Lawson and Katherine Sanoussy, who contributed three assists each. Sanoussy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kyra Fessenden, each putting up two.

St. Johnsbury Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Mt. Mansfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.
