Basketball Recap: Avery Macfarlane's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakewood Park Christian over Edon

Lakewood Park Christian lost against Edon back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers lost to the Bombers at home by a 67-53 margin. The loss put an end to the Panthers' undefeated start to the season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery MacFarlane, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. MacFarlane is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Shirar, who posted 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lakewood Park Christian fell to 2-1. As for Edon, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Lakewood Park Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-43 defeat against Heritage on the 9th. As for Edon, they will challenge Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
