Basketball Recap: Cocoa Beach Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cocoa Beach entered their contest against Father Lopez on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Minutemen took a 44-28 bruising from the Green Wave. The game marked the Minutemen's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Cocoa Beach saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tristan Louis posted six points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for Louis. Yiorgos Xirouchakis was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cocoa Beach suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Father Lopez, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocoa Beach will host Satellite at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Father Lopez, they will welcome Geneva at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
