Volleyball Recap: Antioch Christian Academy Gators vs. Cornerstone Christian Academy Cougars
Antioch Christian Academy lost against Cornerstone Christian Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gators fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2.
Antioch Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Cornerstone Christian Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-8, 15-6.
Cornerstone Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlynn Lanning out in front who had 21 kills and five aces. Those 21 kills gave Lanning a new career-high. Raegan McLucas was another key player, getting 11 aces.
Antioch Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
