Softball Recap: Rensselaer Central Comes Up Short

Rensselaer Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hobart on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Brickies by a score of 8-7.

Brynn Hannon and Rylie Moore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hannon went 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Moore got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one double. That triple was Hannon's first of the season.

Rensselaer Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hobart, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.

Rensselaer Central has already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Pioneer on the 10th. As for Hobart, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 victory against Benton Central on the 10th.
