O'Neill is 8-2 against West Holt since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The O'Neill Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Holt Huskies at 7:00 p.m.

O'Neill is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Norfolk Catholic on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. O'Neill had to suffer through a 71-38 loss at the hands of Norfolk Catholic. The Eagles have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, O'Neill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braxen Eichelberger posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodie Latzel, who had six points.

Meanwhile, West Holt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Warriors 61-26. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

O'Neill better keep an eye on Lincoln Konrad. He was instrumental in West Holt's win, putting up ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Konrad is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Kellen Monasterio was another key player, scoring 11 points and three steals.

West Holt's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for O'Neill, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: O'Neill has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.7 boards per game. However, it's not like West Holt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
