Softball Recap: Louis E. Dieruff Takes a Loss

Louis E. Dieruff extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 16-0 to the Emmaus Hornets. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Emmaus, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Considering they have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Emmaus' part, Sydney Bennett was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Bennett posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Schwab, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Looking ahead, Louis E. Dieruff will head out on the road to square off against Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.63 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Emmaus, they will challenge East Stroudsburg North at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
