After a string of ten wins, North Delta's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Marshall Academy Patriots by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 0-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Owens Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kolby Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

North Delta's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 18-7. As for Marshall Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

While North Delta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
