James River played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They strolled past the Patrick County Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 74-56. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 67-55 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2025.

The win made it two in a row for James River and bumps their season record up to 9-7. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Patrick County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, James River and Patrick County will both be playing Carroll County the next time they take the court. The Knights will host the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
