Basketball Recap: Chris Boyea's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Massena over Oswego

If Massena was riding high fresh off their 74-38 takedown of Brushton-Moira on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Massena Raiders lost to the Oswego Bucs at home by a 73-56 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Bucs are ranked 207th).

Massena lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chris Boyea, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and five rebounds. Alexander Tarbell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Massena's record is now 4-8. As for Oswego, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Massena has already played their next matchup, a 63-61 win against Northeastern Clinton on the 20th. As for Oswego, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-63 loss against Cortland on the 20th.
