Softball Recap: Genoa Central Comes Up Short

Sheridan hit Genoa Central with a six-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 7-6. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Yellowjackets when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Macey Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Fowler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Genoa Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season. As for Sheridan, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Genoa Central will head out to face off against Taylor at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheridan, they will host Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Leopards will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight.
