Volleyball Recap: Claremont Takes a Loss

Claremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Claremont took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-9.

Claremont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rancho Cucamonga, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Coming up, Claremont will take on San Dimas at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rancho Cucamonga, they will head out to take on Murrieta Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
