Football Game Preview: Laurel Golden Tornadoes vs. Oak Grove Warriors

The Laurel Golden Tornadoes will venture away from home to face off against the Oak Grove Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurel comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Laurel is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a blow against West Harrison on Friday, falling 53-20.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Neville. The Warriors breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 36-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Oak Grove's win came from a few key players Laurel will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Roman Causey, who rushed for 134 yards and one score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Kellen Hall, who threw for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Oak Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win got Oak Grove back to even at 2-2. As for Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Laurel took a serious blow against Oak Grove when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 45-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Golden Tornadoes were down 31-0.
