Volleyball Recap: Julia Marengo Key Part of Team Effort in Skippers Win

Mandeville took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Fontainebleau, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Skippers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bulldogs 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Skippers.

Mandeville took Fontainebleau into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-11.

Mandeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julia Marengo led the charge by getting 20 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Marengo has posted over her last 13 matchups. Kinsley Windom was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Mandeville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Mandeville's record is now 16-14. As for Fontainebleau, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 24-16.
