Baseball Game Preview: Whitnall Falcons vs. Marquette University Hilltoppers

The Whitnall Falcons will challenge the Marquette University Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Whitnall 3.2, Marquette University 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Whitnall is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since May 22, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past St. Thomas More 2-1.

Meanwhile, Marquette University put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Catholic Memorial. While the Hilltoppers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Marquette University's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Whitnall, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-1.
