Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Hope Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 71-59 to the Westwood Christian Warriors. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 50-42.

Despite the loss, Hope Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Aiden Wilson, who posted 23 points. Those 23 points gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Walker Munroe, who went 9 for 22 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Westwood Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tripp Kirkland out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. The contest was Kirkland's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Hope Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Westwood Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against First Assembly Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against First Christian at 6:00 p.m.
