Flag Football Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Grandview Wolves
If Mullen was feeling good fresh off their 45-0 takedown of Cherokee Trail on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Grandview Wolves and fell 32-0. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.
Mullen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Charlie Smith and Jamie Alexander.
Grandview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but K'Dence Thomas led the charge by picking up 100 receiving yards and one TD, while also throwing for 56 yards and one touchdown. Brooke Sullivan was another key passer, throwing for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Mullen has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Grandview, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
As of now, neither Mullen nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
