Basketball Recap: Dylan Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hay Springs over Bennett County

Hay Springs was the 68-66 winner over Bennett County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hay Springs Hawks fell 76-67 to the Bennett County Warriors on Saturday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Young, who posted 22 points and six boards. Young's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jaron Dahlgren, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Hay Springs' loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Bennett County, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.

Hay Springs has already played their next game, a 50-38 victory against Crawford on the 13th. As for Bennett County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-55 defeat against Todd County on the 11th.
