Game recap: Aquinas Institute beats Elmira Free Academy/Southside

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Aquinas Institute (Rochester, N.Y.) snapped the 10-game winning streak of Elmira Free Academy/Southside (Elmira, N.Y.), with a 19-6 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Luch Pietropaolo in the first quarter, the Little Irish led 13-6 at the half.

Aquinas Institute grew its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. AI's lone score in the quarter came on a Jake Zembiec touchdown pass to Marcus Conner.

With the win the Rochester school extended its winning streak to 12 games. Aquinas Institute defeated Jamestown 48-34 last week.

Elmira Free Academy/Southside's only touchdown came on a 10-yard run by Jerry McPeak in the first quarter.



The Little Irish had given up an average of 9.4 points prior to the contest.

The loss comes after Elmira Free Academy/Southside defeated Christian Brothers Academy 24-18 last week.
