University proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mead Mavericks, sneaking past 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Korby, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

University pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

University and Mead are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bulldogs will square off against Lincoln at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. University's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Mead, they will take on Air Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kadets have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
