Baseball Recap: Homer Sets Scoring Season-High Against Kenai Central

Homer's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Kenai Central Kardinals by a score of 12-7. The Mariners' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cohen Boyd was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Stanislaw, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Homer's record now sits at 7-4. As for Kenai Central, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Coincidentally, Homer and Kenai Central will both be playing Soldotna the next time they take the field. The Kardinals will host the Stars at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mariners will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
