Basketball Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

Foothill lost against Timpview back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons were dealt a 76-33 loss at the hands of the Thunderbirds. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Foothill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aaron Garbutt, who posted nine points and three steals. Thomas York was another key player, putting up five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Openshaw, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Openshaw has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dean Rueckert, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 18 points.

Foothill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Timpview, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Foothill has already played their next matchup, a 73-29 defeat against Corner Canyon on the 6th. As for Timpview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-48 victory against Skyridge on the 6th.
