Fairfield's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Williamsburg 10-0. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rilee Quickle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Quickle was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Jobey Hattan and Kelsie Crowder did most of the damage at the plate: Hattan went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Crowder went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Ally Maynard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Eastern hit Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Jays lost 13-3 to the Warriors.

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
