Baseball Game Preview: Meade County Green Waves vs. Central Hardin Bruins

The Meade County Green Waves will head out to take on the Central Hardin Bruins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Meade County has five straight wins, Central Hardin has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Meade County beats Central Hardin with four runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Green Waves had just enough and edged out Hancock County 4-3.

The team relied heavily on Austyn Stansbury, who earned two runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Hail, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Central Hardin suffered their biggest loss since March 22nd on Saturday. They lost 11-1 to St. Xavier.

Central Hardin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Meade County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Meade County came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Hardin in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Waves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
