The Unity Reed Lions lost against the Freedom Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Unity Reed was the victim of a rough 71-49 defeat at the hands of Freedom. Unity Reed has struggled against Freedom recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Unity Reed still got an impressive performance from Charles Pargo, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Pargo's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Powell, who scored six points.
Unity Reed struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Unity Reed's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Freedom, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Unity Reed won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Park View at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Park View is ranked 307th, while Unity Reed is ranked 331st). As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to face off against Patriot at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
