Soccer Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe lost against Westover back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Monroe Golden Tornadoes lost 7-1 to the Westover Patriots. The Golden Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of I'Yanna Thomas, who's now up to four this season.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Westover, they moved to 3-4-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Monroe wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Deerfield-Windsor on the 17th. As for Westover, they will be playing at home against Dougherty at 5:30 p.m. on March 20th. Westover is facing Dougherty at the right time seeing as Dougherty is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
