Recap: Seguin Cougars vs. Midlothian Heritage Jaguars
The Seguin Cougars lost against the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Seguin fell 21-14 to Midlothian Heritage. While losing is never fun, Seguin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Midlothian Heritage is ranked 28th).
Sirawn Evans threw for 142 yards and a touchdown. Kohen Peeler was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards. On the ground, Malachi Meche gained 107 total yards.
Midlothian Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaydn O'Neal, who rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Carter Rutenbar was another key contributor, rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Midlothian Heritage's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Leading the way was Temerrick Johnson and his three sacks.
Seguin's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Midlothian Heritage, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Seguin will head out on the road to face off against Burleson at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Midlothian Heritage, they will be playing at home against Everman on Friday.
