Preview: Centennial vs. Corona

If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Centennial. They will challenge Corona on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Centennial are cruising in on a six-game winning streak while Corona are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.

Last Thursday, Centennial put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. Everything came up roses for them against Santiago as the team secured a 59-6 win. Senior Octavio Cortes was the offensive standout of the match for Centennial, as he rushed for 91 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Corona lost to Roosevelt, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 0-57. Corona were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-43.

Centennial were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Corona 65-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
