Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Campo Verde Coyotes
The Gilbert Tigers's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were the victim of a tough 42-20 loss at the hands of Campo Verde. Gilbert has struggled against Campo Verde recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Although Gilbert took the loss, they still got scores from Peyton Bryce, Zach Thompson, and Mason Villela.
Campo Verde was led to victory by Bobby Blackburn and Athan Ferber. Blackburn rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while Ferber rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Gilbert has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Campo Verde, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Gilbert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Campo Verde will head out on the road to face off against Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Cactus is ranked 29th, while Campo Verde is ranked 41st).
