Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the DSST: Cedar Falcons, falling 3-0. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lincoln was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-16.

Yangfeng Lei paced Lincoln's offense, picking up eight kills. Lei got some help from Jacob Maldonado and his six assists. Finally, Beikerson Alvarez kept Lincoln's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for DSST: Cedar, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lincoln is set to challenge their familiar foe Denver West at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, DSST: Cedar will face off against rival DSST: Conservatory Green at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
