Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Has No Trouble Against Richland County

Mt. Carmel won against Oblong on Wednesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Aces were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Richland County Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Aces, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Mt. Carmel and bumps their season record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Richland County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will challenge Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Maroons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Aces' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Richland County, they will square off against Marshall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
