Soccer Game Preview: Howell vs. Cor Jesu Academy

The Howell Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Cor Jesu Academy Chargers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Howell has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Cor Jesu Academy will come in with four straight wins.

On Tuesday, Howell didn't have quite enough to beat Kirkwood and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Howell have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Cor Jesu Academy kept a clean sheet against Triad on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights, sneaking past 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Cor Jesu Academy were the better team in the second half.

Cor Jesu Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for Howell, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Howell beat Cor Jesu Academy 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
