Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Carl Hayden Community

Carl Hayden Community barely beat North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Carl Hayden Community never let North get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cristian Rosas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jose Rios and Eric Mendez did most of the damage at the plate: Rios scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Mendez went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave Mendez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Orlando Rios, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Carl Hayden Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only posted a batting average of .045.

The win made it two in a row for Carl Hayden Community and bumps their season record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
