Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton and North Gwinnett squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Newton had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 9-0. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Kassidy Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on two hits.

Newton now has a losing record of 14-15. As for North Gwinnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Newton nor North Gwinnett have any future games scheduled.
