Softball Recap: Tonganoxie Drops Highest Score of Season Against Atchison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tonganoxie). They never let the Atchison Phoenix get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Emerson Maslak was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Wiehe, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Tonganoxie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tonganoxie pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Atchison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Tonganoxie nor Atchison have any future games scheduled.
