Basketball Game Preview: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Crisp County Cougars + Official Tickets

The Dooly County Bobcats will head out to face off against the Crisp County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dooly County has four straight wins, Crisp County has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Dooly County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over Montgomery County on Saturday.

Dooly County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aleesiah Taylor, who posted 18 points, and Ja'Kayla Hooks, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 points gave Taylor a new career-high. Janasia Hamlin also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Crisp County took on Sumter County on Saturday. The matchup between the Cougars and the Panthers didn't end well, with the Cougars falling 47-28. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dooly County will need to focus on slowing down Quintiya Paul, one of several Crisp County players who made an impact when they last played. She put up six points and three steals. ShaNiyla Allen was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Dooly County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Crisp County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dooly County has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 43.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Crisp County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.5 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Dooly County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Crisp County in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 35-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
