 It was a good run, but  El Dorado unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Benton Panthers by a score of  3-2. Having soared to a lofty 15  runs in the game before, El Dorado couldn't push the score so high this time.
  Jonah Davis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Davis was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Davis wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Sam York, who  got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI. York has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Benton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine games,  which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Dorado will  face off against Pine Bluff at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Benton, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Arkansas at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Benton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so Arkansas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
