Basketball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Booker T. Washington Wildcats

The Biloxi Indians and the Booker T. Washington Wildcats will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Biloxi will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Biloxi will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Gulfport, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Biloxi managed a 40-36 victory over Gulfport on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Admirals are ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Biloxi's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayla Carriere, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zaniya Johnson, who put up ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Pine Forest by a score of 61-53 on Friday.

Biloxi's victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points per game. As for Booker T. Washington, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Biloxi didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Booker T. Washington when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory.
