Baseball Recap: Haxtun Makes It Nine in a Row on the Road

Haxtun came out on top against Akron on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Fightin' Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Rams. The victory was nothing new for the Fightin' Bulldogs as they're now sitting on five straight.

Haxtun saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madden Larsen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Larsen has snagged this season.

Haxtun's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Akron, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rams beat Haxtun by a score of 13-3 later that day.
