Baseball Game Preview: Donna Redskins vs. Donna North Chiefs

The Donna Redskins will face off against the Donna North Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Donna will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Donna is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Donna North a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. With that victory, the Redskins brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Joaquin Gutierrez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Donna is undefeated when Gutierrez posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Donna let Roydaniel Gomez and Ethan Rincon run wild. Gomez went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Rincon scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Rincon a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronaldo Bocanegra, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Donna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Donna's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Donna North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
