Lakota Tech triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Gilbert White Jr.

Recap: Lakota Tech Tatanka vs. Little Wound Mustangs

The Lakota Tech Tatanka can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Little Wound by a score of 72-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Gilbert White Jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lakota Tech's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Casey, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Lakota Tech's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Little Wound, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Lakota Tech will head out on the road to face off against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Lakota Tech likes a good challenge. As for Little Wound, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pine Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Pine Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Little Wound in South Dakota (Pine Ridge is ranked eighth, while Little Wound is ranked 76th).
